Diversity Specialist
POSITION PURPOSE
The Diversity Specialist for Life Balance, Flexibility and Career Development is charged with creating projects in collaboration with Human Resources and Business Group colleagues across Lehman Businesses globally. This person will be responsible for supporting a range of projects that include but are not limited to designing flexible work programs and program piloting, mentoring and career development initiatives and other projects as needed. Reports to Chief Diversity Officer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage flexible work arrangement application process:
Review all US based flexible working arrangements (FWA) requests
Support employees applying for FWAs
Discover creative ways to make FWA requests work. If declined, coach manager on conversation with employees
Consult with divisional human resources on all FWA applications
Coordinate issue resolution with specialist groups e.g. compensation benefits, employee relations, compliance, facilitates, etc.
Coordinate initiatives with Europe and Asia
Monitor and Manage Flexible work arrangements:
Design and deliver training for managers, human resources and employees on FWA
Conduct surveys/focus groups on FWAs and liaise with HR on employee survey
Design and provide management reporting on usage
Design and Develop Mentoring initiatives:
Manage Parenting Pals program
Collaborate with Leadership and Learning department on developing firm-wide mentoring initiatives
Partner with internal/external resources to conduct research and benchmarking on life balance ideas and external best practices
Develop Career Development Initiatives:
Design and develop career development initiatives for diversity and assist networks in developing specific initiatives
Interface with external consultants to determine new ideas and determine appropriateness for internal Diversity and Inclusion initiatives
Partner with internal mobility resources to support career mobility of employees
Manage annual diversity business planning processes with the business units
Marketing Strategy:
Manage the application process for awards and accolades
Oversee Website/Brochure/Policy guideline development as it relates to responsibilities
Represent Lehman Brothers in external forums, conferences and internal events as it relates to flexibility, life balance and retention
Other projects and tasks as assigned

Strong project management skills are a must
A basic understanding of Human Resources management is required, as well as a good understanding and knowledge of the financial services industry globally
Organizational development skills, change management skills, strategic planning skills and business acumen are essential
Ability to represent Lehman Brothers, its corporate philosophy and culture, both internally and externally
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Minimum five to seven years of work experience
Vice President/Senior Vice President level position (dependent upon experience)
